In keeping with our mission and logo, my path took me to Churchill Downs this week. I wanted to share our cross with those who work through struggles and know that there is a light at the end. The first cross was given to a beautiful lady who had adopted a sweet little girl from China. The second cross was given to the trainer of one of the Oaks horses. The third cross was given to the trainer of some of the derby horses. Each cross was a reminder that we are not all perfect and we all struggle, but with his strength and light, he will keep us in his safekeeping.
We traveled back near the area where the craftsman grew up in NY, on our way to cycle in Canada with the Martin sibling families. The Stamford Airbnb that we stayed was on St. Paul Avenue and central to our two day cycle adventure. The first day of cycling began on D-day with our first stop at the MacFarland House 1800, then onto the historic Fort George, ending with tasting for premium ice wines, and relaxing over lunch at Walker's Country Market along the Niagra. The next day we drove into the town of Niagra Falls, Canada to park and begin the second day of cycling. We cycled along the Niagra towards Fort Erie, stopping at the monument for the Battle of Chipawa. It was very moving. Next, we were greeted by a promising young entrepreneur who sold us fresh lemonade from his grandparents home. The final stop was the majestic Niagra Falls. All cultures and ethnic groups came together to fill themselves with the power and beauty of one of the world's most natural wonders. At the end, was the rainbow. We shared this moment, we shared our message.
